With a nearly 20-fold increase in water conveyance capacity-the DN2800 pipeline has a diameter 1.8 meters larger than the commonly used DN1000 pipeline, yet its water conveyance capacity is exponentially increased, perfectly meeting the needs of long-distance, high-flow water transfer. During the technical selection process, the design unit pointed out that the ultra-large diameter ductile iron pipe has excellent corrosion resistance, good joint sealing, short construction period, and low construction and maintenance costs, directly addressing the industry pain points of traditional large-diameter water conveyance projects, such as long cycles, high pressure losses, and expensive maintenance.
Installation efficiency is significantly improved – ductile iron pipes use socket connections, eliminating the need for on-site welding and secondary anti-corrosion treatment, resulting in extremely high installation efficiency.
Corrosion prevention and water quality assurance: the foundation for a 50-year lifespan
Long-distance water pipelines often traverse different soil environments, ranging from acidic soils to highly saline-alkali areas, with varying risks of corrosion.
